A personal photographic project on the experience of observing scenes without belonging to them. For five years Carmina photographed from the position of the observer: present in a scene, without access to its complete history.

Concept
A woman killing a duck in a Vietnamese market. An elderly man eating an ice cream alone in Mallorca. A Hindu ceremony in Indonesia where a woman angrily speaks to her husband while they walk in procession.
The photographs are accompanied by imagined dialogue. The words are not what the people actually said; they are scripts written by Carmina.
Exhibition
28 October 2026 (upcoming), Barcelona — in collaboration with HP / La Masia HP Design. The first presentation of the project and an initial view into the larger body of work.
Micro-Cine
The second room is an interactive creative workshop. Visitors choose a photograph, write what they think the people are saying — or what they themselves would say — and take it home or pin it to a corkboard. A box of recognisable film quotes lets visitors match a line to a photograph. The visitor becomes part of the project and creates a new interpretation.
About the artist
Carmina’s family has a photographic history dating back to 1954, across three generations. Since 2021 she has been building this personal archive alongside her professional work.
